DirectPointe Adds Hosted Exchange to the Small Office Solution

Customers Receive Full Functionality of Microsoft Exchange without the Cost and Complexity of Setting up and Managing an Internal Server

LINDON, Utah--DirectPointe, a leader in managed computing services, today announced the availability of Microsoft Hosted Exchange* with the DirectPointe Small Office Solution and CentralPointe Server. This gives small and mid-size businesses a fully-featured and integrated networking solution that includes Microsoft Exchange with a simple interface that streamlines the addition of new users and easily deploys other services.

With Microsoft Hosted Exchange, customers get the full suite of features seamlessly integrated with the networkfrom the initial purchase through delivery and support. It enables employees to share calendars, contacts, tasks and public folders without requiring the business owner to set up and manage an internal Microsoft Exchange Server. Mailbox data is stored on the hosted server but cached on local computers, so users can work offline when not connected to the Internet.

We wanted the functionality of Exchange, but we couldnt justify the costs, said Chad Christensen, president of Cottonwood Capital, a Utah-based real estate investment company. With Hosted Exchange as part of our DirectPointe solution, we now have all the features at an affordable price. Plus, we dont have to worry about managing it and integrating it with our other systems.

The DirectPointe Small Office Solution with Hosted Exchange also provides users with full access to their mailbox via BlackBerry*, Treo*, Windows* and other mobile devices through their choice of support for BlackBerry Server, Good Messaging Server* and Wireless Active Sync*.

DirectPointe CEO Michael Proper said, The addition of Exchange functionality to our Small Office Solution accentuates our role as an advocate for simple, manageable and affordable technology for the SMB. Our centralized approach coupled with a managed services offering is what makes our Small Office Solution unique and able to reduce IT cost and complexity for smaller businesses and distributed enterprises.

DirectPointe Small Office Solution customers now have the choice between Google Apps* and Microsoft Hosted Exchange for their collaboration needs. This also gives customers additional support for Microsoft SharePoint* and Microsoft CRM* 3.0 through DirectPointe or its partners.

The DirectPointe Small Office Solution is a fully featured, enterprise-class networking solution for small businesses and large organizations with distributed environments. It provides all of the core server and networking hardware, software and services a small business needs in a single, plug-and-play device that resides at the customer location. At the heart of the Small Office Solution is the CentralPointe Server, which partners can use to provide their own branded offering.
