Driving Greater Efficiencies for Media and Entertainment Companies Through Improved Collaboration, Shorter Development Cycles and Reduced Cost
LAS VEGAS--At NAB 2007, Avanade announced it will collaborate with Microsoft to support the integration and deployment of the new Microsoft Interactive Media Manager solution for media and entertainment customers. Building on Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007, Microsoft Interactive Media Manager is a next-generation digital content management solution designed specifically for the media and entertainment industry, including film, post-production studios, broadcasters, game developers, publishers and advertising and marketing agencies. As an integration partner, Avanade will offer capabilities and assets in conjunction with Interactive Media Manager, helping media and entertainment organizations bridge the process gaps that exist between content production and business departments, eliminating unnecessary manual workflow and providing management with real-time insight into production details.
“The media and entertainment industry has gone digital, opening up new opportunities to develop and distribute assets and products in less time and at less cost,” explained Dean Olmstead, Director Industry Solutions at Avanade. “Today, the content development process requires collaboration between many people across multiple specialized tools and technologies often with manual workflows. Using the familiar Office SharePoint Server 2007 interface, Interactive Media Manager improves collaboration in the development of creative assets, from digital content to product distribution, leveraging the tools and technologies media companies have already invested in. Avanade’s industry-leading experience with SharePoint, and now our work with Interactive Media Manager, allows media companies to fully realize their potential.”
”Avanade has a long track record of helping enterprises realize the productivity benefits of SharePoint and, with Office SharePoint Server 2007, we are seeing the power of this technology helping enterprises take the next step towards true digital collaboration,” said Larry LeSueur, VP of Infrastructure Solutions at Avanade. “The Interactive Media Manager is just one example of many applications of SharePoint that are dramatically improving productivity and collaboration for our large enterprise customers.”
Interactive Media Manager is a server-based product that provides a Web-based interface for accessing and interacting with media files. The solution includes powerful tools for quickly building complex workflows, monitoring the performance of those workflows and facilitating the reviews and approvals in the workflow process by pushing tasks and forms directly to recipients' Microsoft Office Outlook Inbox or to an RSS feed. The solution’s collective components of powerful Web parts and workflows give media and entertainment companies license to explore new creative possibilities and distribution methods, opening the door to new revenue-producing models.
“We’re pleased to include Avanade as a key global system integrator partner for the Interactive Media Manager solution,” said Gabriele Di Piazza, managing director for the Media and Entertainment Group in the Communications Sector at Microsoft Corp. “We feel Avanade’s extensive knowledge of the Microsoft platform makes it a natural partner for this solution and for additional components that integrate into it, such as Business Intelligence and Microsoft Dynamics for business management and CRM.”
