IntApp Teams with Microsoft to Enhance Confidentiality Management for Law FirmsPALO ALTO, Calif.--IntApp Inc., the leading provider of confidentiality management software for the legal industry today announced that it is collaborating with Microsoft to add significant enhancements to Wall Builder, its information access control product. A web-based application developed using Microsoft’s ASP.NET 2.0 Web Application Framework, Wall Builder enables organizations to centrally control, monitor and report on granular access permissions across multiple applications including document management, accounting, CRM and records management systems. Multiple scenarios drive the need for law firms to closely manage access to internal information. In many instances, significant revenue opportunities depend on the firm’s ability to demonstrate such control. Situations compelling confidentiality include waiver-driven ethical walls, client requirements, management concerns about the scope of access available to contract attorneys, and compliance with regulations such as SEC, SOX, HIPAA, ITAR and European Union directives. Wall Builder from IntApp replaces distributed, ad hoc approaches to information security with a centralized solution that provides organizations with unprecedented capability and control over user access to specific applications, documents and other information. It’s the only product for law firms that delivers real-time enforcement while updating access rights in response to staff behavior to ensure that policies are kept up to date automatically. IntApp is working with Microsoft to deliver enhanced attorney reporting and notification by developing an integration module for Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007. By using Wall Builder in conjunction with SharePoint, law firms will be able to deliver timely, accurate and relevant information to attorneys about the confidentiality policies affecting them. Increased visibility will further reduce the chance of inadvertent attorney error. “Client, court and regulatory requirements are driving law firms to adopt the most rigorous confidentiality enforcement available,” said Don Coleman, Vice President of Product Management, IntApp. “We’re pleased to be working closely with Microsoft to make it easier for attorneys to manage and comply with the growing volume confidentiality restrictions affecting their firms.” “Law firms benefit from the combination of Microsoft’s familiar software platform and IntApp’s long-standing vertical expertise in the legal market,” said Brian Zeve, managing director for Microsoft’s U.S. Professional Services Group. “Ultimately, this helps firms achieve increased visibility and control of confidentiality policies throughout their organizations.” About IntApp IntApp provides software solutions that enable law firms to increase attorney billability, ensure client confidentiality and maximize staff productivity. With over 100 customers, including 30% of the National Law Journal’s 200 largest US firms, and a vibrant partner community, IntApp has been embraced and endorsed as an industry standard.
