QlikTech to ‘Go West’ with Continued Expansion in US MarketPresence in Silicon Valley Enables Next Generation BI Leader to Better Serve Customers in Western Region and Collaborate More Closely with other ISVs RADNOR, Pa.--QlikTech, the world’s leading provider of in-memory analysis and reporting solutions, announced today that is has opened an office in San Mateo, California, to meet growing demand for its award-winning business intelligence product QlikView and to assist other independent software vendors (ISVs) looking to differentiate their solutions with next generation analytics. In addition, the company has appointed a new Executive Director of Sales for a newly-established Western region in the US. The move comes on the heels of various awards and recognition for QlikTech in the tech-heavy Northern California region. Last month, QlikTech won the Red Herring 100 Award, which recognizes the most innovative privately-held technology companies. For its demonstration of financial viability and market adoption with customers, QlikTech was also selected in May as one of six “Fast Track” innovators at the annual Software 2007 event held in Santa Clara. In April, the Sand Hill Group recognized QlikTech as one of the 25 most innovative players in the software industry. In late 2006, industry analyst IDC named QlikTech as the fastest growing BI software company in the world for the third year in a row. Although only recently establishing a formal presence in the west, QlikTech has been serving scores of organizations in the region, mainly through partners. Western regional companies using QlikView include SonicWall, eBay, US Synthetics, QuikSilver, National Frozen Foods, WARN Industries, Northwest Pipe and the San Diego Union Tribune. “This is the next logical step as we continue to grow the company. For starters, we want to better serve our ever-expanding customer base out west. Also, with all of the recognition we are receiving in the region, we want to be prepared to address the growing interest in our revolutionary product,” remarked Rick Pitts, President and CEO of QlikTech North America. “Last year, we grew our top line in the US by 84%, and that was before officially establishing ourselves in the western part of the US. This investment will help us maintain—or perhaps exceed—that level of growth this year and for the years to come.” To lead sales and services in the newly-formed western region, QlikTech has appointed Sean Hughes as Executive Director, Western Region. Hughes brings over 12 years of software sales and sales management experience, including nine years in the business intelligence space with vendors Hyperion, Brio Software and SQRIBE. Hughes joined QlikTech earlier this year. With more than 150 partners in the U.S. and 600 partners worldwide, QlikTech also looks to accelerate growth of its partner ecosystem with this investment. While the expansion will help QlikTech extend its reseller network throughout the western states, the company is particularly interested in collaborating more closely with the many Silicon Valley-based technology companies that aim to differentiate their offerings with QlikTech’s leading next generation, in-memory analysis solution. “From our experience so far, it’s obvious that software and information companies can improve their offering—and their business—by taking advantage of a next generation, in-memory analysis solution like QlikView,” explained Les Bonney, Vice President of Global Alliances & International Markets for QlikTech. “Why would someone try to build it from scratch or rely on older technology, like OLAP, if they can quickly, easily and cheaply take advantage of QlikView to enhance their offering? In the end, whether through better functionality, lower total cost of ownership, higher revenue, or more satisfied customers, everybody—including product managers, the CTO, the VP of Sales—wins.” Last year, the company launched Qonnect, a global partner program that enables leading Consulting, Platform, Application Software and Information Services companies to deliver a new class of In-Memory business intelligence technology to customers around the globe. The Program consists of a comprehensive set of programs and services to help QlikTech Partners develop, promote and deliver their solutions to their customers. “Analysis is a strategic component of our CRM offerings, and we have chosen QlikView to power our Sage SalesLogix Visual Analyzer application,” commented David van Toor, General Manager of the Arizona-based CRM Solutions division at Sage Software, a leading global provider of business management solutions. “By utilizing QlikView as the analytics engine behind Visual Analyzer, we are able to deliver timely and relevant information that our customers can use in tactical and strategic decision making.” QlikTech is leading a new class of easy-to-use, fast and flexible business analysis solutions that empower individuals to improve corporate performance and drive innovation. QlikTech’s flagship product, QlikView, extends the company’s vision of simplifying business analysis, offering solutions that can be deployed in days, where users can be trained in minutes, and where end users have the freedom to be more creative in their analyses. Founded in Sweden in 1993, QlikTech established its global headquarters near Philadelphia in Radnor, Pennsylvania, in early 2006. In addition to Radnor and San Mateo, QlikTech has US offices in Chicago, Dallas and Raleigh. Earlier this year, Gartner recognized QlikTech as a “Visionary” in its annual Magic Quadrant for Business Intelligence Platforms.
