Added Dimension of Location Enhances Business Intelligence Systems and Empowers Companies to Make More Informed Business Decisions

London, February 06, 2007— MapInfo Corporation (Nasdaq: MAPS), the leading global provider of location intelligence solutions, today introduced the latest version of the MapInfo Location Intelligence Component to MicroStrategy’s Business Intelligence (BI) Platform. Including enhanced functionality, the MapInfo Location Intelligence Component enables organisations to easily incorporate location analysis into their BI applications and more efficiently monitor report and analyse their enterprise data.

The newest version of the MapInfo Location Intelligence Component tightly integrates MapInfo’s sophisticated geographic querying and visualisation capabilities with MicroStrategy’s powerful BI platform. Users can utilise MapInfo location intelligence solutions while at the same time accessing MicroStrategy’s wide range of enterprise reporting and analytic solutions. The MapInfo Location Intelligence Component also provides a bi-directional geographic interface—enabling users to move in and out of the data, whether they are generating maps based on reports or reports based on maps. For companies with BI data sets that span multiple countries, they can display several different maps containing the most up-to-date, country specific street data in a single report, enabling users to perform queries, conduct on-the-fly geocoding and drill deep down on data that crosses country boundaries.

"i-aXs™, our online risk management platform, uses the MapInfo Location Intelligence Component to add the important dimension of location to our reports,” said Shajy Mathai, managing director of Guy Carpenter & Company, LLC, the world's leading risk and reinsurance specialist. “A client looking to determine its catastrophe exposure in a specific area can now view this information on a map instantly, with no additional software or training. This allows better, faster decision making and can result in a clearer business strategy."

“While beneficial on their own, business intelligence solutions coupled with MapInfo location intelligence technology truly enables companies to get the most out of their data,” said Michael Hickey, COO at MapInfo. “The extended functionality and usability of the MapInfo Location Intelligence Component help companies detect patterns, risks and opportunities, enabling them to make more informed business decisions and improve the return on their BI investments.”

"We are pleased to see MapInfo continue its commitment to building upon the MicroStrategy Business Intelligence platform and support our Dynamic Enterprise Dashboard initiatives,” said Sanju Bansal, chief operating officer, MicroStrategy. “MapInfo's work helps our mutual customers benefit from enhanced visualization for their MicroStrategy BI applications."
