      EmailLabs Signs Record Number of New Clients, Garners Industry Recognition During Quarter
      Attracting 70+ Name Clients and New Personnel, Email Marketing Leader Extends Growth During Three-Month Period Ending June 30
      MENLO PARK, Calif.--July 31, 2006--EmailLabs (www.emaillabs.com), the leader in high-performance email marketing solutions and a subsidiary of J.L. Halsey Corporation (OTCBB:JLHY), today announced that a record number of client wins helped it sustain its market growth during the most recent quarter of its fiscal year, ending June 30.

      EmailLabs signed 76 new clients during the quarter, including NARS Cosmetics, Robeez, Scrubs & Beyond, Skip Barber Racing and Spirit Cruises LLC.

      With several key personnel appointments and a series of industry awards complementing the new client contracts closed in the quarter, the company continues its focus on technology and product excellence and a "best practices" approach to customer service.

      Other highlights from the quarter ending June 30 include:

      -- The addition of 10 new employees, including a Director of Consulting responsible for evaluating EmailLabs' clients current email marketing programs, training them on industry best practices and developing strategies to help them increase return on investment.

      -- Recognition for the fourth consecutive year by ASPnews.com (www.aspnews.com/top50/) as one of the Top 50 ASPs worldwide and as a Top 25 Service Provider for the Software-as-a Service (SaaS) and Business Service Provider category.

      -- EmailLabs' monthly newsletter "The Intevation Report" won MarketingSherpa's Gold Award for "Best Email Newsletter for Marketing Purposes." The award was received at MarketingSherpa's Email Summit Awards Gala, at the House of Blues in Chicago, on April 20.

      -- Completion of a landmark Deliverability Survey showing the impact of ISP and corporate filtering.

      -- Lena Waters, EmailLabs' Director of Marketing, received a Stevie Award for "Best Marketer" in the 4th annual American Business Awards.
