NEW YORK--Capgemini US LLC, one of the worlds foremost providers of consulting, technology and outsourcing services, announced today it has been named in the InformationWeek 500, a list that recognizes achievements of corporate America's largest and most innovative users of information technology. For the first time, Capgemini has jumped into the top half of the list. The award winners were listed in the September issue of InformationWeek.

For the past 19 years, InformationWeek has identified and honored the nation's most innovative users of information technology with its annual listing. The list is unique among corporate rankings because it spotlights the power of innovation in information technology, rather than simply identifying the biggest IT spenders.

Over the last year, Capgemini has developed a number of innovative solutions helping to define the rules of the game in the professional services industry. These solutions include:

  • Digital Media Delivery Service DMD Service enables retailers, telecom, cable, broadband and entertainment companies with the approval of content rights holders, to sell and distribute digital content to their customers. The new service enables IPbased commercial retailing of music videos, TV shows and blockbuster movies. Capgemini is teaming with major technology providers including HP to bring this turnkey solution to specific markets.
  • Smart Meter Capgemini is collaborating with utility industry leaders across North America in Canada and California on to deliver advanced meter reading to end-users. In addition, Capgemini is a founding member of the Smart Energy Alliance along with Cisco, GE Energy, HP, Intel and Oracle.
  • RAIN Service Oriented Enterprise Roadmap The RApid INovation series of environments around the globe were launched to usher in the next era of serviceorientation and end business as usual. The RAIN environments were developed in collaboration with Intel to show transformation in action in physical environments including Cupertino, CA and Utrecht, Netherlands. The physical environments are complimented by a virtual environment that allows organizations to model business processes with plugandplay applications and a modular infrastructure.

During the same week, CRM Magazine gave Capgemini a Market Leader award for providing clients with leading practices in the function of Customer Relationship Management (CRM). The magazine lauded the consistency of Capgeminis ratings across multiple criteria. The launch of a dedicated Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) unit in North America and the acquisition of Kanbay were seen as moves that bolstered the CRM capabilities of Capgemini.
